The mission of the Mississippi Insurance Department is to impartially enforce the laws and regulations enumerated in Mississippi Code Ann. Section 83-1-1 et seq., thereby creating an environment conducive to a competitive marketplace for the sale of insurance products and services while providing the State's citizens with the maximum amount of consumer protection.
CHIP is designed to provide health care insurance for children in families without health insurance or with inadequate health insurance. It does not replace Medicaid; in fact, children on Medicaid are precluded from CHIP participation. A coalition of public, non-profit and private health-related organizations is committed to improving the health of Mississippi's children.
The Association's purpose is to provide health coverage to citizens of Mississippi that desire to purchase such coverage but who cannot obtain it because of health conditions.
